The 2010 Joint Fall
Conference of the Oklahoma Association for Bilingual Education
(OABE) and the Oklahoma Teachers of English to Speakers of Other
Languages (OKTESOL) will be held November
12-13, 2010, at
Tulsa Community College, Northeast Campus (3727 East Apache,
Tulsa, OK 74115). The conference theme this year is
L4=Language
x Literacy x Learning x Life.
Featured speakers are Dr. Natalie Kuhlman, Professor
Emeritus, San Diego State University, who will present at the
Saturday luncheon on Rubrics,
and Dr. Sue Ellen Read, Northeastern State University,
Tahlequah, speaking on Learning
Styles and Culture at
the Friday night banquet
There will also be concurrent sessions on
topics of interest to preschool, elementary, and secondary
educators, educators who work with adult learners both domestic
and international. In addition, the conference will feature
exhibits by publishers showcasing
the latest materials and resources for ESL and Bilingual
Education. Several publishers will be donating books and other
materials for door prizes. There will also be artisan
and crafter exhibits.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Radisson Inn,
Tulsa Airport (Note: Name changes to Park Inn on October 1) ,
2201 N. 77th East Ave., Tulsa, OK 74115. The room rate is $69
